Facility Policies and Procedures


FACILITY RULES
  1. A membership or daily pass is required for anyone aged 5 years & older to use the facility. If there is anyone who lets another person in (to avoid paying a daily pass) or sharing their membership code, both persons will be asked to leave the facility. Continued offences can result in suspension of membership or future admittance.
  2. Middle school-aged MEMBERS are allowed to use cardio/weight room with adult supervision (someone 18 years of age & older) BUT ONLY after completing an orientation with our staff.  Only 9th grade and above are allowed to enter the cardio/weight room by themselves.
  3. Any middle school-aged member or day pass user is allowed to use the gymnasium by themselves (facility rules must be followed).
  4. Anyone 5th grade & younger must be accompanied by an adult (someone 18 years of age & older) while in the facility. That adult person is responsible for supervising such child (ren) at ALL times!
  5. Recreation Department scheduled activities will take priority in all activity areas.
  6. Appropriate dress, including shirts and shoes, must be worn while in the facility.
  7. Proper athletic shoes must be worn (please make sure they are free of mud and other debris).  A shoe cleaner is located by the front entrance.  Boots will not be allowed in the gym. 
  8. Everyone should be treated with respect regardless of gender, age, religion or race.
  9. Physical or verbal threats, sexual harassment or any other form of un-warranted physical contact is strictly prohibited and are cause for immediate removal from the facility.
  10. Food and NON-screw-top drinks are ONLY allowed in the front lobby.
  11. ONLY beverages with snap-on or screw-top lids are permitted in the weight room, fitness studios, walking track or gymnasium.  Food of any kind is NOT ALLOWED in these areas.
  12. Chewing gum is prohibited in ALL areas of the facility.
  13. Abusive and profane language is prohibited throughout the facility!
  14. Alcohol, tobacco and vape usage are prohibited in and on the grounds of the Activity Center.
  15. No spitting in water fountains, on any of the floors or in the trash cans.  SPITTING of any kind will not be tolerated!
  16. All members/patrons are to dispose of their trash properly.
  17. Bicycles, scooters, skates of any kind and pets are not permitted inside the Activity Center.
  18. Recreation staff members are not responsible for lost or stolen property at the facility.
  19. Please report any property damage, spills or malfunctioning equipment to HAC staff.
  20. Loitering is prohibited.
  21. Recreation staff have absolute authority to enforce rules and remove from the premises patrons who do not behave in an appropriate manner.
GYM
  1. Black-soled shoes that mark the floors or any shoes with wheels are prohibited.
  2. ONLY screw-top beverage containers are allowed throughout the facility (meaning in fitness rooms, gym, classroom and on walking track).
  3. Chewing gum is prohibited in ALL areas of the facility.
  4. Appropriate dress, including shirts and shoes, must be worn while in the facility.
  5. Dunking or attempting to dunk, grabbing and/or hanging on the rims or nets is prohibited.
  6. In the event of crowded courts, the facility supervisor has the authority to modify game format in order to accommodate more participants.
  7. Bicycles, scooters, skates of any kind and pets are not permitted inside the Activity Center.
  8. Anyone 5th grade & younger must be accompanied by an adult (someone 18 years of age & older) while in the facility.  That adult person is responsible for supervising such child(ren) at ALL times!
  9. Pick-Up game rules: (1) 1st 10 players play (2) Three game maximum team limit on either court (3) New players have first priority over losing team players.

CARDIO/WEIGHT ROOM
  1. No basketballs/volleyballs/dodgeballs/balls of any kind are allowed in the cardio/weight room.
  2. Daily pass users must be high school-aged or older to use the cardio/weight room.  Middle school-aged MEMBERS are allowed to use equipment with adult supervision (someone 18 years of age & older) BUT ONLY after completing an orientation with our fitness staff.
  3. Anyone 5th grade & younger must be accompanied by an adult (someone 18 years of age & older) while in the facility.  That adult person is responsible for supervising such child(ren) at ALL times!
  4. Please be courteous and limit your time on the machines to 30 minutes. 
  5. Return all hand weights and weight plates to their appropriate location when finished.
  6. Clean equipment after use.  Please deposit dirty towels in the laundry bin in the hallway.
  7. Report any equipment problems immediately.
 
TRACK
  1. No basketballs/volleyballs/dodgeballs/balls of any kind are allowed on the walking track.
  2. The walking track shall be utilized for walking & running activities ONLY! All users are asked to please follow the directional arrows.  No climbing, standing or sitting on railing, window ledges or walls.  Walkers are asked to please utilize the inside lanes; thus allowing runners to utilize the outside lane. Please be aware of/courteous to everyone utilizing the track.
  3. Gym spectators are NOT allowed to stand along the walking track to watch gym activities.
  4. Anyone 5th grade & younger must be accompanied by an adult (someone 18 years of age & older) while in the facility. That adult person is responsible for supervising such child(ren) at ALL times!
